What is PA++ in cosmetics?

I’ve been purchasing asian cosmetics and skin care stuff and i’ve noticed that a lot of them say on the package Pa++ on them… what exactly is that? I can’t seem to find any info.

its a different indicator of protection for the skin. Its usually found after the SPF number. SPF is a sun protection factor of UVB rays. PA is used to measure the protection factor of UVA rays. I dont think they have means of measuring or studying the degree of UVA rays and how quickly they can be absorbed into the skin so they cant numerically tell you how much protection is in them exactly. There are 3 degrees of PA which are PA+, PA++, and PA+++. Of course the higher the plus the more protection. If youre out in the sun for hours make sure you get at least PA++; just to play it safe ^_^
